King Eider

Eiders are considered seabirds due to their preference for marine habitats. While breeding in the Arctic, however, some species – particularly the king eider, Somateria spectabilis – travel up to several hundred kilometers inland. With some exceptions, there is insufficient data to estimate either population sizes or to determine trends for world eider populations.
